• Uninspired. Photo studios offering extreme discounts through third-party companies get only a fraction of what you’re paying for the coupon. The deal-brokers get the rest. With photographers making so little on the transaction – often only a tenth of their usual fee – how motivated do you think they’ll be to do a great job for you? At Pink Kitty Studios, we understand that your photo shoot is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we treat it that way.

• Take a number. Third-party coupons are so popular that I've seen photographers sell over 500 of them! Many have such fast expiration dates that you’ll have a hard time getting an appointment at all, much less an appointment at a date and time that’s convenient for you. And the coupons can’t be refunded just because you didn’t get the appointment you wanted. Still, even if you can get an appointment, the volume of discount packages means a rushed and burned-out photographer. Lame. Pink Kitty Studios limits appointments to only eight per month, ensuring that we have plenty of time and energy to give each client the attention she deserves.

• Bare minimum. Most of the time, the steep discounts offered by deal-brokers are for a very basic package with few pictures that may or may not include prints. These packages hardly ever include retouching. The studios are counting on clients spending extra on the “extras” – additional prints, retouching. They will do whatever it takes to upsell them to you. Pink Kitty Studios takes 100 to 300 pictures depending on the package and includes free retouching and lots of prints. Of course you can get additional items if you want, but we will never, ever give you the hard sell.
