Frequently
Asked Questions
1.
Do you have any other packages not listed on the site?
Our
posted packages are the only packages available. Sometimes we add new packages,
temporary special packages and offer discounts. You may be able to customize within
our packages, so please ask about this. Also be sure to join our mailing list
to keep up-to-date on our specials!
2.
Can I keep the negatives? Can I get the basic package now and then order more
prints in the future?
Since
we shoot on high-resolution digital cameras, there are no negatives, but rather
high-resolution digital files of your images. We store those files for about a
year so you can order additional prints after your shoot. You can also buy a copy
of the high-res files and print them on your own. See our pricing
page for details.
3.
Do I have to be a model to have my picture taken?
Absolutely not! Almost all of our clients (including those you see all over our
website) are real women who have never done this before. We have great lighting,
work with you on posing and expression, and use the latest in retouching to help
you look your best. We know how to work with all body types and ages.
4.
I'm a size 16. Do you work with larger women and can you make me look like a size
2?
We definitely
work with larger women and we know how to pose and light you appropriately to
bring out the best features and hide any flaws. You will look glamorous and beautiful.
But we will be honest and tell you that we cannot make a size 16 look like a size
2.
5. Why
does it take so long to get my prints?
We
meticulously retouch each and every photograph that we print, then send it to
a professional photo lab. When we get the prints back we make sure they are perfect.
If they aren't we send them back to be redone. The kind of results we demand is
time-consuming.
6.
You aren't in my area, do you know anyone in my city who does what you do?
We
don't! But we plan on expanding to your area soon. Please join our mailing list
to keep up-to-date on our new location openings. Or, if you can get enough of
your friends together for their own shoots on a weekend, for example, we might
be willing to travel to where you are. Please feel free to inquire.
7.
How far in advance do I need to book
my shoot?
That
will depend on a few factors, particularly the time of year. Our busy season generally
starts a few months before the holidays and goes until Valentine's Day. During
that time you may need to book a month or more out if you want a weekend date
(it's easier if you want a weekday slot). During the non-holiday season you can
usually get in much more quickly.
8.
Do you provide the wardrobe or do I need to bring my own? Do you know where I
can get cute outfits?
Most
of our locations have some wardrobe you can borrow, but we generally find you'll
be much happier if you bring your own. This way you can be sure it fits perfectly
and that you'll be wearing what you (and your guy) find most appealing. Most clients
bring a choice of their own outfits, and then supplement with our wardrobe. The
amount of wardrobe we have varies from location to location, so if you do plan
to rely on some of our wardrobe, please be sure to ask about what we have. However,
all of our locations have plenty of props for you to use such as aprons and dish
gloves for the kitchen set, bubble bath for the bathtub set, etc. Also, please
check out our links page for places we recommend for
online shopping.
9.
Why are the prices in all the cities
different?
Our
expenses are different in each city, so our prices reflect that. Philadelphia
and Colorado Springs are test market cities so the packages and pricing there
vary even more from the other cities and change quite frequently.
10.
Do I have to use your makeup artist? Can I bring my own? Can I hire yours to do
just one look?
Although
we highly recommend using a makeup artist because it really is essential for a
true glamour photography look, and our makeup artist knows specifically how to
do it for photography, it is definitely not mandatory. However, we recommend that
if you do not use our girl that you consider going to your salon to have it done
before you come in for the shoot (or if you have a friend who is really good at
it, have her do it for you before you come in, etc.). For various reasons we do
not allow you to bring your own makeup artist into our studio to do the work.
If you are having someone else do it for you, you need to have her do it before
you come in. And no, we're sorry, but our makeup artist cannot be hired for just
one look.
11.
Can I bring a friend? Boyfriend? Husband? Sister? Children? Pets?
Yes,
yes, yes, yes, no, yes with restrictions. Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome
to come to the shoot with you, but absolutely no children younger than that. If
you want your pet in some of the pictures it will depend on which location you
are shooting at (some of our studios are pet friendly and some are not). And if
you do bring a pet with you, you must also bring a friend or relative to mind
and pick up after your pet while you're getting your hair and makeup done and
shooting other pictures that your pet is not in. Large dogs must be kept outside
when not having their picture taken.
12.
What if I need a drink first!?
You
may bring whatever you want to drink, and yes, it often definitely helps to relax
you! However, we suggest you also bring some snacks if you're going to be drinking.
Also if you want to drink before or during the shoot at our studio you MUST bring
a friend or relative with you who is not drinking and is your designated driver.
13.Will
you be posting my pictures on the Internet or selling them to anyone else?
Absolutely not!
All of the girls shown are our website have given us permission to use their images.
If we do not ask for and get your permission, we will not post your images anywhere.
And if you do give your permission, and later change your mind, just let us know
and we will take them offline immediately.
14.
Can I get a 12-month calendar with 12 different outfits?
The
short answer to this is "no." But you will easily be able to get 12
different images for a calendar from your three outfits. For a detailed explanation
of this, please read about our calendars here.
