always looking for freelance photographers and makeup artists. Right now we need
photographers and makeup artists in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas, and Chicago.
This
is a great opportunity for professional female photographers who already have
their own glamour or pinup photography businesses and want to pick up a little
extra cash or for professional female photographers who currently shoot weddings,
babies, etc. and want to get started in glamour and pinup photography.
A few things we'll
need from our photographers:
You
must be female. Our
clients are most comfortable with women only on the set. That we are a female-owned
and -operated business is one of the reasons our clients choose us. Other
requirements:
-
A home-based studio with a professional atmosphere. Our pictures
are different partly because of our studios. We offer much more
than just plain backdrops. Our wide variety of vintage, romantic,
and glamorous sets with furniture and other props give our photos
a professional/magazine-like look and feel. Your home studio
must be attractively decorated, clean, fresh, clutter-free,
and no men, children, or pets are allowed in the studio during
shoots. You'll need to have at least five of these sets at your
home studio:
- seamless
backdrops of various colors and a large enough space to
work with them
- vintage-y
kitchen
- plain
bathroom with bathtub
- brightly
colored room with couch, chair or chaise longue as well
as other accessories like candles, vases of flowers, mirrors,
etc.
-
a bed with white bedding as well as alternate bedding such
as red, pink or black satin
- edgy
industrial or rustic area (concrete, brick, or wood walls
and floors, interesting stairway, garage)
-
outdoors (rooftop, grassy area, or swimming pool).
- If
you have different sets not on this list, we'd love to see
them!
- If
your place is at the very least clean, fresh, and clutter-free
we can help you with the sets and props.
-
Your
own equipment, including at least two studio strobe lights
and an SLR digital camera. You'll also need to know how to
shoot in natural light.
-
A
computer with zip and ftp programs.
-
An
online portfolio of your glamour/boudoir work for us to look
at. If you don't have much work in this area yet, you should
do some shoots with your friends to develop a portfolio. Our
clients are regular everyday women, not models, so
you'll need to be able to photograph all shapes, sizes, and
ages in a flattering way. Please do not develop a portfolio
of professional models if you want to work with us! Also,
we recommend that you try to duplicate our
style (specifically our lighting, sets, and poses) in
the portfolio you show us.
-
A
relaxed, bubbly personality.

Freelancers
will be paid between $200 and $400 per shoot. Shoots generally
take three to four hours. You'll only need to do the shoot
and upload the images to us then send us an invoice and we'll
send you a check within a week. You will not be required to
have any interaction with the clients before or after the
shoot. We'll take care of all the scheduling, billing, answering
of questions, retouching and order fulfillment.
Makeup
artists must also be female and be able to do various makeup
AND hair styles. We are looking for professional makeup artists.
You must be certified to do hair and makeup in your state. Our
clients love vintage looks as well as natural, glamour and Playboy
style looks. Makeup artists are paid directly from the client
on the day of the shoot in cash and are paid between $150 and
$200 depending on the city they're in and number of looks (usually
between two and four).
Copyright of all images you shoot for Pink Kitty Studios will be owned by Pink
Kitty Studios, but you may be allowed to use some images in your portfolios. You
will also be asked to sign a freelance agreement with PKS that details other terms.
If
this sounds like something you want to do please email
us with a link to your online portfolio, the location you
want to work in, and to discuss more specific details.
Thanks! |
